Fnatic wins ESL Pro League Season 11 EUROPE - Shaun N D'souza

Due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 in the world, CS: GO’s Pro League Season 11 had to be played online than on stage in front of a live audience. This was the first time that Pro League was being played online. Inspite of all this tension around the world, CS: GO’s Pro League was a very hardcore and thrilling experience for everyone to watch.

The competition spanned for 4 weeks including 24 teams. The teams were divided into 4 groups of 6 teams where every team played in a best of 3 round- robin competition. The group winners were seeded into the late stages of the playoffs and group runners-up and third-placed teams played in the early rounds of the playoffs. Na’Vi were the favourites to win the competition due to their dominant victory at IEM Katowice 2020 just 2 weeks prior to ESL Pro League.

In the first stage of the game Astralis, NA’Vi and Mouseports topped their group securing themselves a spot into the second stage. Later on, FaZe Clan, Fnatic and OG clutched on to secure their spots for stage two. In stage two Fnatic top their group, and guaranteed their spot in the finals whereas Astralis and mouseports battled again in a best of three to face Fnatic in the finals. Mouseports defeated Astralis 2-1 and redeemed their spot in the finals of ESL Pro League S11 Europe.

The Grand Finals was a best of 5 to crown the CS world a champion of Pro League. Fnatic removed Train whereas mouseports removed Inferno from the map pool. Fnatic picked Overpass and Vertigo whereas mouseports picked Dust 2 and Nuke. The deciding map was Mirage. Fnatic won their map pick of Overpass defeating mouseports 16-11 with a powerful performance by Brollan with 24 kills and 7 assists. Mouseports won their map pick of Dust 2 7-16 with in-game leader karrigan stepping up having 24 kills with 3 assists. Map 3 was won by mouseports which was a pick by Fnatic 11-16, with woxic having 20 kills and 12 assists for his team. Map 4 was won by Fnatic in a dominant fashion 16-1, with flusha having 25 kills and 5 assists to his name.

And so, it came down to Mirage the last map to crown us our ESL Pro League S11 Europe champions. Fnatic started off at the CT side whereas mouseports started on the T side. The first half was an 8-7 half led by Fnatic. The second half was dominated by Fnatic with them winning the map 16-12 crowning them the ESL Pro League S11 Champions from the EU region. KRIMZ was the best performer on the map getting 30 kills with 6 assists. The last map saw a number of clutches from players as well as lot of knife kills. Freddy ‘KRIMZ’ Johansson was the player of the match. Fnatic’s youngster Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin was named the MVP of ESL Pro League S11 Europe by HLTV.org.
