After a successful storyline started from the movie Iron Man (2008) came to a conclusion with the movie Avengers : Endgame (2019), the fans surely have been delighted with the number of characters introduced with the perfect alignment and connection with each other. The fanbase has increased by a huge number over the years and it is seen that people are gaining information about comic book characters through the MCU movies which splits their attention towards reading comic books too.
The X-MEN franchise under 21st Century Fox has introduced some great potential characters such as Professor X , Magneto , Dark phoenix ,Wolverine, Cyclops and many more. Although the timeline of the previous X-MEN movies may seem a bit confusing , they surely haven’t failed to entertain the fans. In fact if channelled in a better direction these characters could turn out to be lot more interesting than what we have seen in the past.

With the parent company Disney taking over 21st Century Fox on 21st March 2019 which ended in a whopping deal of $71.3 Billion , Disney can have access to these X-MEN characters which can be introduced in the MCU which raises the question “Is there actually a need to introduce the X-MEN in the MCU this early just because the merger is completed?”
It is obvious that the fans are expecting a new storyline after the last avengers movie and are excited to see the X-MEN fight alongside the Avengers taking on the bad guys, but if we consider the past Marvel Studios have been patient enough when it comes to introducing new characters in their movie roster.
With a load of upcoming movies such as Shang Chi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of madness , Thor : Love and thunder etc and Series such as Falcon and The winter soldier , Loki , What If? and Wanda Vision , the room to introduce the X-MEN in the MCU for at least the next 4-5 years narrows down by a huge margin.

Rushing into introducing the X-MEN may also result in the continuation of the previous storyline turning into something bad .It has taken 11 years to build such a huge fanbase for the franchise. At the moment its not preferable for the studio to make this move but as mentioned previously we surely will be seeing a crossover in the upcoming years.
On the imaginary side, yes , it would be great seeing Spiderman and Daredevil link up together , Wolverine fighting alongside the Hulk or against him. Also there would be room for introducing the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Dr Doom, The Fantastic Four etc. The possibilities are almost endless.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige mentioned that the studio is in no rush to introduce the X-MEN for the next few years as they already have a lot lined up for the fans already. Also he mentioned that introducing characters which the fans barely know about should be exciting. Good news for the fans is that the third Deadpool movie has a higher probability of being the first R-rated movie in the MCU.
The Storyline is going to be continued for sure with the flow of movies and hopefully towards an even better one. The studio will be busy with their upcoming projects which are already fixed upon but this also gives them ample amount of time to introduce the X-MEN in a way which wont be confusing for the fans and will also be surprising at the same time. As mentioned before the studio has been patient with their previous movies and has given amazing results with the ratings. As far as it comes to introducing the X-MEN, it is predictable that the studio surely wont let the build-up over the years go down the drain and will connect them to the storyline in the best way possible. As far as the franchise is concerned , the X-MEN are home and will add only more excitement and thrill in the upcoming movies.
