Learning new skills is very important as it will help you in getting a particular job. The more skills and experience you have higher the chances for you to reach your goals! As college students we are always looking for ways to add value to our resume. Thus I have listed certain important skills which are growing over time and have huge demand. Once you learn a certain skill either you can freelance your way or get an internship.


1. Photoshop.

There is often myths that one needs to learn drawing and needs to be artistic to learn Photoshop but that’s not the whole truth although having an creative thought process will give you a slight upper edge. Learning the basics of Photoshop is easy to learn and understand. Photoshop can be used for basic editing of images, Social media designs, Web development and much more. Learning photoshop gives you the experience that one can create anything he wants and that’s what makes it special.


2. Content Writing

The un-employment rate is increasing daily during this difficult time. But content writing and blogging has gained a lot of importance. If you like writing and letting your thoughts out then content writing is a good option for you. Content writing has it application in most of the fields be it marketing , finance , sports and even travel the need for more content writers has increased over the years , and it’s a really good time to start now.

3. Digital Marketing

Marketing has always evolved over the years. The main concept of marketing is meeting the right people at the right time and at the right place. With the current scenario most of the consumers spend their time online and digital marketing makes it easier to connect to consumers. The scope of digital marketing is quite high and it has the tendency to grow more.

4. Basics of stock market

As most of the people, I always thought that stock market is very risky and the tendency to lose is very high, that statement might be true if you don’t have any idea and invest in stocks, After research and learning basics of stocks I truly understood it is analytical, interesting and a true skills to learn, although I believe that no one can become rich overnight and if you are planning for long term investment then stock market is a valuable skill to learn.

5. Coding

Coding is basically learning different languages to interact with the computer , the reason why coding is important that it’s the basics to understand things , taking an example of English , English itself is an subject but eventually to understand other subjects you need to understand English first. That’s what makes coding amazing that it opens up a whole different world of possibility, and it’s never late to start.
